The reason we found the restaurant was by recommendation of a pep boys employee for a bite while our truck was worked on. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and the chicken salad sandwiche was delicious!

Ye old is like that ice cream parlor that you grew up going to as a kid. They got your basic sundaes and banana splits, but they also have food! Yeah it's allot of greasy, not so good for you hangover food, but it takes people back to those comfort food staples from when you were a kid. A time where you could eat an extra cheezy grilled cheese with fries, soda, and a sundae and not get heartburn, or feel full of regret. I say YOLO because their grilled cheese is so yummy! For the health conscious, according to Scotty C. they have some pretty legit salads. My husband got the Greek salad one night and it was fresh, not too much cheese, and pretty good! I love the ice cream and the classic sundaes. They have a wide variety of flavors from java chip to rainbow sherbet. One COLD night we decided to order the pig trough out of all things. Which was 6 ice creams, 7 toppings, and 1 epic night. It was a gorgeous work of art that was devoured in less than an hour. One thing I am not a fan of is the whip cream. Maybe i'm just a whip snob, but it's just too much like icing. An artificially, cool whip, icing blend that comes out of a piping bag. It's too sweet for my liking. Depending on who is working and how busy they are the staff can be a hit or a miss. Sometimes slow, or the orders can be wrong, but overall everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Overall this is a great lunch spot, or a nice stop to satisfy that sweet tooth. I'll be back!

Came through here during the last weekend of August for a rally. The staff was friendly and the food was pretty good. The hotdogs are the cheap kind, however. The parking lot is not Lowrider friendly. Did not try the shakes or ice cream, however, they seem pretty popular. It was clean inside.

Good food, ice cream was not so good! Additionally, having an 8 year old African American boy sweeping the floor and hitting me in the head and shoulder with the broom and jamming it under the table while I ate was a bit unsettling. It seemed an employee brought her kids to work this day. Not the best of experiences.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots on Rivers avenue near where I work. There is plenty of parking and the entrance is clearly marked. They have Wi-Fi which I love and they tend to change the password often to keep it very secure. I have been eating here for years and the staff members are all very nice. They restaurant is also pretty clean. My favorite is the egg salad sandwich. It is a huge sandwhich with 3 pieces of bread... Bread, egg salad, bread, mayo lettuce and tomato... delicious! You can also get it with bacon on it.... Super delicious!! I also really like their salads and wraps. The menu is HUGE with something for everyone. You can also choose from many different sides to accompany your meal. There ice cream is also very very good. I would recommend this location to anyone!

On January 10, 2015 at approximately 1242 hours I, Dante G. responded to Ye Ole Fashioned Cafe and Ice Cream located at 6554 Rivers Avenue, which is in the city of North Charleston, in reference to lunch. Having been called in early to an off duty job, I did not wish to eat at the Food Court twice in one day. As I made my approach, I observed a male white exit his large, white in color, Ford F-250 work truck and leave the vehicle unoccupied and running. Suspecting a violation of SC Code of Laws 56-5-2570, 1976 as amended, I checked the door and found it locked. The driver returned and I thanked him for locking his vehicle. He was getting ice cream. I entered the front door on the A side of the building, near the D-A corner. The door on the B side, near the B-A corner is an emergency exit and an alarm will sound. I made contact with a male white at the counter, identified as Shaun W., who took my order. I ordered a simple grilled cheese. Unfortunately, my loaf of bread had fallen victim to Rhizopus Stolonifer and was not suitable for consumption. I had to seek my toasty, cheesey goodness elsewhere. The menu, located to the left of the register, boldly proclaims that the grilled cheese is "BEST you've ever had!!" Now, I am 40 and I like to eat. I have had a grilled cheese or two. I have had them made by grand mothers, spouses, single moms, married moms, MY mom. Best? With two exclamation points? That is pretty bold. I opted for the combo because I do like the thick cut crinkle fries. There may be tea in that sugar. Just saying. You may want to go half and half. Go, go gadget insulin. After a few moments, Shaun W. delivered my meal. I immediately noticed an amazing development in sandwich construction: THREE pieces of bread. Never before have I experienced such ingenuity. This middle piece of bread makes double cheese possible! And not in just some large, melted mass. Each piece is finely defined and enjoyable. Suddenly, it seems worthy of those two exclamation marks!! BEST, in all caps, however? I think not. Very good, definitely, but I think there needs to be the introduction of multiple cheeses to be BEST. It is a start, though. End of Report.

I really enjoy this place. Good food and a relaxed environment. Only problem is the price. It's $20 for my girlfriend and myself which seems a little steep to me. Other than that the fries are always hot and fresh, and the burgers are a good size. Their ice cream is good too which we usually get after we eat. Highly recommend for a burger and fries kind of day!

I met Lindsey A over here for lunch recently after a meeting and although I've been to Ye Ole plenty of times, I had never been to this location. I must say it was super clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food seems to be the same across the board on Ye Ole so no need to go into that but just know that if you order anything with bacon on they destroy that bitch with bacon! Also, I found out you can get half onion rings and half fries for you side... amazing!

Great ice cream! Good service! The staff was friendly and fast. The restaurant also serves food. It's got an old - diner type feel to it.

Good ice cream but nothing to rave about. I'm a caramel lover and had only one choice. Caramel turtle cheesecake so I opted for the choc, peanut butter . Hand dipped and decent

Always good. The staff is usually very nice. The food was great. Forgot my daughters ice cream and gave her fries instead of chips....but we used the drive thru, so no worries. I'm sure it was an accident. I should have checked the order before I got all the way home.

Well I guess for being about one of the only decent places on rivers avenue with a drive through, this place isn't all that bad. But it wasn't my favorite place and I definitely wouldn't drive out of my way to go back. Nothing was particularly wrong with my meal, it was just ok. If I forget to bring my lunch again and have to go out then I may go back, otherwise I will pass.

Not sure why this location is different from the others, but if you are expecting the drive-thru to be quick, you're better off going inside. They wait on each car individually whereas the other locations will have someone come take orders ahead of getting to the window. They even have a second window that's not being used. The food is great, don't get me wrong, but don't come here for a quick bite.

A friend took me here for ice cream and I'm in love. This isn't the fancy gourmet ice cream for the snobbish. Good old fashion ice cream with a ton of options.

I found myself stuck being "served" by someone who was slow and unable to comprehend the words coming out of my mouth. People behind me, and coming in long after me were eating their ice cream while I waited, and waited for this one woman to make a hot fudge brownie sundae. I also asked, and paid for a drink, but she walked off without giving me the cup. I had to ask someone else to do her job. Hell, they were serving three times as many people and doing it right. The experience completely marred my enjoyment. Stone Cold Creamery, you are up to bat.

32 flavors are all creamy and terrific and I've tried them all!! French vanilla, cookie dough and moose tracks are my favorites. Banana splits are HUGE. You get alot for your $$. BLT has 10 slices. Fast service.
